Abstract
40 and 46-year-old women presented to the ambulant clinic complaining of abdominal pain. They inserted an IUD into the uterus 5 and 14 years ago. Computed tomography (CT) scans of abdomen findings suggested evidence of actinomycosis. Drainage & dressing was performed. Intravenous penicillin was administered for several weeks, followed by oral penicillin therapy for several months. Throughout the treatment period, the patient experienced significant symptomatic improvement. Follow-up CT imaging studies confirmed a decrease in the size of the mass and became the normality after last 1 years. These cases diagnosed the abdomino-pelvic actinomycosis with the past history of the IUD, clinical aspect and CT finding. According to literature, we chose the long-term antibiotic therapy with percutaneous drainage where is not the extensive operation.
